A visit to Ground Control Coffee
April 11, 2009 Posted by Chris Tingom Filed under Uncategorized
On my recent trip to Ground Control for the Latte Art Throwdown I took some photos of the shop and wanted to share them with you all. It had been 2 years since my first trip, far too long!
Most notable:
- Huge wine bar, if you’re into wine / beer stop in some evening for a treat.
- Massive conference table that seats at least 16. Available for reservation for events.
- They roast a lot of coffee and have huge stacks of green beans in the warehouse area.
- The coffee bar is an island in the middle of the main room and is shaped like a coffee bean.
- Equipment: 4 group LaMarzocco LB 80 and a swift grinder.
- Very comfortable chairs and lots of them.

I was out there just a few weeks ago! Pretty cool place, but really far from the East Valley.
In the 3rd picture, if you look just above and to the left of the blonde barista’s head (near center the center of the photo) there’s a wall where they have various posters/fliers hung up. One of them is a full-page print out of one of my (de)motivational posters! http://mymotivatr.com/view/306
Imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw that!
