Hi everyone. I’m taking this opportunity to thank everyone who came out last night for the throwdown. While it’s always nice to see coffee people congregate (and to see friends met at the past throwdown in January!), I, in particular, want to thank you for your generosity. Without last night’s fundraiser, I would not have been able to make the trip to Portland to compete in the US barista championship. I look forward to doing my best out there and hope to make all of you proud and to help build the scene around Arizona. Be sure to stop by Cartel once we’re back from the competition so I can make you an espresso and put a Portland story in your ear.
xoxo, Joseph

Good luck Joseph and to Jason who are competing. Anybody else competing from AZ?

Good luck Joseph! I wish I could have been there to help support your trek to Portland, but I was horribly sick and couldn’t leave my bed, let alone drive to Tempe. I wish you the best of luck in Portland and I look forward to the next Throwdown!

Check out http://usbc2009.com/ to watch the live stream this year. Tell me that isn’t awesome. Jason is going to be presenting on Saturday. I think Joseph on Friday, but i am not certain of that.

Best of luck Joseph. I know you have what it takes. I would say “break a leg” but I promise my mom not to say that ever.
