Isn’t the cafe latte just a cafe au lait? I would’ve thought the ‘cafe latte’ is 2 shots of espresso + tons of steamed milk.
Quite a few of these are ‘subject to interpretation’ of their local barista, their local (national and international) Chain-store manager/corporate overlords, or regional dialect.
I’ve been harping on the BGA for standards for a few years. Until baristi and customers can share a common lexicon across shop menus, it’s always gonna be like this.
