Women make up 64 percent of iced coffee drinkers

According to BusinessWeek’s article about iced coffee women make up 64 percent of iced coffee drinkers. Interesting. Keep in mind this article includes data from major brands… so we’re not necessarily talking about coffee bars.

One lesson we learned early on at Echo Coffee (and my apologies if this sounds sexist, but the trend is simply too compelling), but if a woman (particularly those ages 20-35) orders a latte, they more than likely want an iced latte.
We now make a habit of asking specifically if anyone wants their latte iced or hot, but are particularly mindful of woman that order a latte.
