Bookmans had a really exceptional coffee bar and cafe in Mesa and it has now closed. Bummer.

It was only 7 months ago that Bunna Coffee moved to a new and much larger location in East Mesa. But now they are closed. Unfortunately, it looks like they were not able to generate enough business.
Sorry to hear about a shop like this closing, and especially sorry for Mesa which is like Death Valley for coffee shops (what I mean: There aren’t many coffee shops in Mesa!).

The new Bunna Coffee location is at Baseline and Power roads, in east Mesa.
Bunna Coffee & Tea Market now is in a 1,536-square-foot-space with seating for 54 people inside and 16 people on the patio. Surrounded by small businesses, the shop serves the densely populated neighborhoods of Gilbert and east Mesa.

I just received a message from Sam Clark at Lo-Fi Coffee in Mesa. They wanted to let everyone know they are hiring:
Looking for barista with training preferably, if no experience knowledge and interest in the industry is important. Employee will need to think on feet and be able to work in a traditional coffee shop as well as non-traditional climate. Ability to work amongst musicians is important. Prior Experience, resume, cover sheet, and references are required.

There is a relatively new coffee shop in Mesa called Lo-Fi Coffee I just learned about (grand opening was July 1st).
For years now, Mesa has been a veritable desert of coffee. If you were to look at a map of coffee shops, for some reason Mesa was empty. Not now.
