Aaron Kelly asks: Other than Counter-Culture Cafe, are there any other 24 hour coffee shops in the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe area? How about any that are open very late on the weekend (1am)? Good question, I can think of Coffee Plantation on Camelback (they’re usually open until midnight, and maybe later on weekends), and The Willow House (3rd Ave/McDowell) is open until midnight every night (1 am on weekends). Does anybody know of any others? There is definately some room in the market for a late night coffee shop, especially in Scottsdale. In other news, I’ve mentioned it in passing, the Coffee Plantations now have free wireless internet.
Charles I’m sitting at the Willow House right now, using its wifi and sipping a Grasshopper Mocha. As a former Tucson resident I must say that the Valley’s offerings are woefully inadequate (read: nonexistent) when it comes to 24 hour coffee houses compared to Tucson. As for the Willow House, it’s to my liking in some ways but can certainly improve. There are no electrical outlets in the room I’m sitting in, for my laptop. It’s a bit too hot in this room for me to be really comfortable for very long sitting here. And it looks like the smoking room is bigger and nicer than the nonsmoking room. Ew. 0 Reply September 4, 2006
Gerald Personally, I spend hours at Cartel, but they close early (rhymes with ten) most of the time. They’ve got power and laptop areas, plus a good internet connection. -1 Reply December 29, 2009
