I was browsing around this neat color pallet web site this weekend, and stumbled across this innovative coffee lid. It changes color based on the heat in the drink. I’ll let the video do the talking. www.smartlidsystems.com
Michael T Yay! More chemicals in my lid! Normally, I can’t tell if my drink is scalding hot by touching the cup or by sniffing the lid opening…this is a godsend. Okay I’ll stop there. 0 Reply July 30, 2007
Chris Tingom Haha, I had the same thoughts. This would be much cooler as a rangehood. 0 Reply July 30, 2007
Jason Haeger Seriously? Is this really necessary? I like how the Gaggia Espresso domestic machine was used as a background, but was never touched. Interesting. Also, the Styrofoam was a little off-putting. It’s a nifty looking sippy-cup lid for a 4 year old, though! 0 Reply July 30, 2007
Bill and Ginger Sandweg Can’t they make a lid that changes color to red (for STOP) when the coffee inside sucks. If you’re the kind of person that needs a lid to tell you that your coffee might be hot, you are also probably three years old, and Mommy and Daddy shouldn’t be buying you a Starbucks in the first place. 0 Reply July 31, 2007
Austin I wasn’t paying attention while watching the video. Lets say you scald your way through half of your overly hot coffee, and let it sit for a period of time. Would the lid still work or would it say that its cooler only to find yourself with no skin on your tongue when take a big swig (rather than your prior small sips) . I think i’ll stick with color changing spoons from the Lucky Charms box. 0 Reply July 31, 2007
