Carmel's Coffee in Phoenix, AZ

My wife and I have recently been visiting new coffee shops and it’s been a recent delight to visit Carmel’s Coffee in Phoenix. The shop opened in late March and serves coffee roasted by Cartel Coffee Lab. It is owned by Patrick Flanigan.

When we stopped in, it was nice to see a familiar face — Brian Clemens was there spending his Sunday afternoon working on his side project (he and Jason are working on a new coffee shop).

The drinks: My wife had an iced Americano and I enjoyed a cappuccino, my usual. While the barista did not do any latte art, I was pleased with the quality of the preparation, and really enjoyed my time.

The shop has some cool touches: A sweet painting of an elephant on the floor, some very large paintings on the wall, and some sweet tables and chairs. It’s definitely a cool shop and I’ll be back often. They’re open every day from 6 am to 5 pm.
