Do you check-in? There’s Yelp, Foursquare, Facebook Places, Brightkite (does anyone still use it?), Google+ Locations, Gowalla, and probably a hundred other tools for checking into a location. I admit, I’ve tried them all, but only rarely check into a place any longer. I prefer to just tweet my location and a few observations (or a picture).

But, I’m curious how prevalent is usage of location-services in Arizona? Does your favorite coffee shop reward you for your loyalty?

  1. My friends and I will do this from time-to-time, but you need to be careful about checking other people in without asking them first.

I’ll check in via Yelp every now and then, but only to remind me to write a full review later.

  3. I’ve done the same, Ethan. Or simply to bookmark it for when I’m trying to decide where to go.

  4. Ugh. No thanks, I would like to enjoy my coffee in my own ignorance and peace, without having to check in with anyone or anything.

No smart phone here; I have an Old School handset 🙂

  6. I usually check in to FourSqure since it’s more anonymous (and rewarding) than Facebook. Btw.. I heard that Gowalla has a feature that let’s you sync to all the other location based sites, if anyone is a hard core check-in major/duke/etc.
