On New Years Eve I went over to Village Coffee in Scottsdale to get a drink with my wife. I’m not sure why, but I was amazed by how many people were there. Here’s a photo. My wife and I literally got the last two seats in the back. There were at least 30 people there, and more were arriving when we left. This is pretty typical for a place like Lux, but it’s just interesting to me for the day, and place.

Chris – Great blog that you have created! I was curious why you were surprised to see “Village Coffee” so busy on New Year’s Eve? I am total coffee nut and I love this place! I love this place for their coffee and the people that work there, they always make feel at home when I walk in the door, plus they have yummy java and food!

  2. Because from my experience most other shops in the area are not that busy on New Years Eve.

Plus, the other thing that interests me about this shop is it appears to have a totally unique and loyal customer base. And I’m guessing a lot of long-term customers who live in the area and make it a frequent stop.

  3. It’s possible that since it’s a smaller shop, the density of people was what I noticed. For example, that many people are frequently at Coffee Plantation, yes?
