The next time you are in the book store pick up a copy of the December 2014 issue of PHOENIX magazine. This month, they’ve done a terrific job highlighting some great local coffee shops, shared brewing techniques, and interviewed several valley baristas and coffee shop owners. There’s even a panel about Arizona Coffee.

The article is titled Café, Coffee, Joe? You can read the first page online, but the rest is only available to online subscribers, or in the print edition.

Leah LeMoine, the article’s author, reached out to me in October to ask me some questions about coffee in the valley — and those questions and answers are included in this months issue as a sidebar interview.

The article does a really great job highlighting some new and veteran coffee shops — including Sip Coffee & Beer House, which is highlighted with a full page photo. They also sat down with the roasting team from Press Coffee Roasters, and took photos at one of their weekly cuppings.

Also included were photos from Songbird Coffee & Tea House, located in downtown Phoenix. The photo of Songbird is of a nice pour over.

I’ll include a couple of snapshots of the issue here, but be sure to grab a copy to check out all of the recommendations.
