There are so many awesome coffee shops in Scottsdale! If you are looking for a great place to hang out for a few hours, or grab a latte with friends, this list was made for you (and is in no particular order). Scottsdale, AZ is my hometown, and I’ve visited most of these coffee shops dozens of times.

Press Coffee Roasters

15147 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254

Located in the Scottsdale Quarter shopping complex (Scottsdale Rd. & Butherus), this coffee shop serves traditional espresso drinks in the best way imaginable. The team at Press Coffee are dedicated to the craft of making quality coffee. They serve one of the best cappuccino’s you will ever try. They also serve a variety of fresh pastries and breakfast items, including delicious breakfast wraps.

Echo Coffee

2902 N 68th St #135, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

A popular hangout among the south Scottsdale crowd. Echo Coffee has been serving and roasting coffee for well over 5 years. They are located on Thomas Rd. and 68th St. near Old Town Scottsdale. Baked goods, cookies, and freshly prepared food are all available. They roast coffee on the premises and have lots of seating available. Echo Coffee definitely knows the coffee business, and the art of making great coffee.

Lakeview Coffee

8320 N Hayden Road #107, Scottsdale, AZ 85258

Situated directly next to Lake Marguerite in Scottsdale, Lakeview Coffee boasts a pretty nice patio with views of the lake (ok, so you can also see the parking lot, but it is pretty nice). We like this coffee shop for their breakfast options, as well as good coffee. They roast beans on-site, and also have a baking operation there as well. Lots of food options, including wraps and sandwiches. They’ve hosted a couple of latte art competitions and are quickly becoming a name in the valley coffee scene.

Village Coffee Roastery

8120 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85258

village-coffee-roastery

One of the oldest coffee shops in Arizona (founded nearly 20 years ago), and a valley favorite. Village Coffee Roastery serves fresh coffee and espresso drinks, along with baked goods. They do a brisk walk-in service due to their proximity to many walking paths. Village Coffee Roastery roasts coffee in their building and sells coffee by the pound. We often stop in for breakfast or lunch. They have a lot of options, and the food is delicious.

Cartel Coffee Lab

7124 E 5th Ave, Scottsdale, AZ

Located on 5th Ave. in Scottsdale, Cartel Coffee Lab is one of Arizona’s most respected coffee companies. They boast 5 or 6 locations around the state, and roast their own coffee. They don’t roast coffee at this location, but instead roast at their Tempe shop. Cartel serves beer which they have on tap. They even brew their own award-winning beers. They serve awesome drinks, and you can’t go wrong with Cartel. Some times we’ve noticed the music can be really loud, which can be a problem if you are meeting people for serious discussions. They have a patio located to the side of the building (overlooking the street.

Sip Coffee & Beer House

3617 N Goldwater Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

One of the newest coffee shops in Scottsdale is Sip Coffee & Beer House. It is located in Old Town Scottsdale near Brat Haus where Scottsdale Rd. & Goldwater Blvd. intersect (the south part of town). Sip Coffee is one cool place: The building is an old block construction that underwent a serious remodel prior to opening. The wood rafters are exposed, and they have cool, classy furniture. They serve coffee from Cartel Coffee Lab. Along with the coffee, they serve a wide array of brews both on tap and by the bottle. They have a delicious variety of food options including an awesome hummus plate and sandwiches. They have a really great outdoor patio that you can’t miss!

Buzzberry

5959 N Granite Reef Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250

You guessed correctly, Buzzberry serves smoothies and coffee. They’ve been serving both and more for about 5 years now in south Scottsdale. They also offer a large food menu.

Coffee Plantation

7366 E Shea Blvd #102, Scottsdale, AZ 85260

One of Scottsdale’s oldest coffee shops. They are located near the Harkins Theatre on Shea Blvd. & Scottsdale Rd. Coffee Plantation has one of the largest patios in Scottsdale, and is often open late to accommodate moviegoers. The location serves coffee, tea, and has a fairly large food menu. They serve really tasty sandwiches, I must admit. While the coffee isn’t going to blow you away, it is decent.

Olive & Ivy

7135 E Camelback Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

I generally don’t list restaurants but have made an exception for Olive & Ivy because they have a dedicated lounge area where you can enjoy your coffee or tea. When you first walk in, you’ll be delighted with the view: It’s a pretty cool building, with high ceilings, and a beautiful bar. Order your drinks at the coffee bar and find a seat! I should note that the food at Olive & Ivy is quite good, and they have an awesome patio that overlooks the canal.

Winfield’s Cafe

7025 E Osborn Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Located adjacent to First Baptist Church of Scottsdale, Winfield’s Cafe is named after the founder of Scottsdale; Winfield Scott. I’ve only visited this coffee shop once, and it was a while back, but they often feature live music events, and sell a variety of coffee and food options.

Comoncy

7301 East Indian Plz, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

comoncy

The new kid on the block: Comoncy is a coffee shop that is serving food as well. Their tagline says: Espresso, Salads, Sandwiches and they promote themselves as a community gathering spot where you can get a great meal, with coffee. This is their second location, and their other location is in Beverly Hills, CA. Located on Camelback Rd.

Kona 13 Coffee & Tea

10953 N Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, Ste 100, Scottsdale, AZ 85259

coffee

I stumbled across Kona 13 Coffee & Tea just the other day, and stopped in for some coffee. It’s a really small coffee shop, with bright walls, minimal seating, and the bare necessities. I spoke with the barista who was very friendly and they have been open almost 1-year. With your coffee or tea you can order from a number of muffins and cookies.

The KaviShop

8989 E Indian Bend Rd, Ste D-4, Scottsdale, AZ 85250

sovereign

I have never visited this shop before, but it is located in the Scottsdale Pavilions shopping center on the south side. The company is a Native American Indian coffee roasting operation, according to their web site.
