While in Flagstaff recently we were looking for a place that serves a good lunch along with coffee. We found The Tourist Home Urban Market and decided to check it out.

I’m glad we did! It was one of our favorite stops in Flagstaff, and an exceptionally cool place to dine.

They have toddy coffee and we ordered 2 of those. They provide free refills on toddy! I’ve never seen this anywhere. I really liked the toddy. They are getting it from a local company called Tinderbox. I realize my review here is about a single experience, but we really enjoyed our time here and the staff were exceptionally friendly.

The first thing you should know is that they have an amazing pastrami sandwich! One of the best that I have ever tried. Fresh, juicy, and tasty. I’m fairly certain they are also making their own 1,000 island dressing to go on top.

We also enjoyed a turkey sandwich, which wasn’t as amazing but only because of the comparison to the pastrami. The turkey was loaded high with meat and came with American cheese. They’re either making their own bread or sourcing it from a local bakery. Nicely done.

The interior of Tourist Home is a big room with high vaulted ceilings painted white. The duct-work is all exposed and painted a brilliant white. It’s very clean and well lit.

The tables are metal and have cool swinging chairs that are bolted to the table leg. It’s difficult to describe, but is a cool concpt. Obviously it’s home made. There’s plenty of places to plug in your laptop and hang out for a few hours. Although, there are no couches, the tables were comfortable.

Tourist Home Urban Market is more than a deli. They also sell local meats, cheeses, wines, and much more. Think of it as a grocery store for fine culinary products.
