Another Tucson coffee shop opens in February. It’s called Crave Espresso Bar and it is on 4530 East Broadway Blvd.

From the Tucson Citizen:

Kim Sciabica hopes to have her Crave Espresso Bar open next month at 4530 E. Broadway in the Midstar Plaza. Crave will feature brews using beans from local company Roaster X, pastries baked daily at the restaurant and several unique amenities.

“It’s going to be something of a departure from what Tucson has in the way of coffee shops,” she says. “It’s going to be very colorful and very fun, with a drive-through window, a true bar for coffee drinkers, and a funky, modern-but-retro feeling.”
Sciabica’s first foray in the food and beverage business, Crave will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays, and from 7 a.m. to midnight Saturday, with Sunday hours yet to be determined.

“I don’t think we have enough cool places to hang out in midtown,” Sciabica says. “I’m really excited about our location and the experience we’re going to provide for people.”

Applications for baristas and a part-time baker are still being accepted. For information, call 325-6537.

  1. I see they “borrowed” the “night sky” lights in the ceiling concept from the Vein.

Hope for a positive review in the future.

  2. I give them a thumbs up for A: naming a drink after me & B: getting me to go there daily for another!

Location, location, location. I live less than a mile from this spot and it is very tough to get in the parking lot.
Hope the product overcomes the hassle.

Well, it has been taken over by Aaron (Roaster X, Safehouse Owner), so make of that what you will. I’ve been there since, and it was fairly mediocre. Granted, it was right after their ‘Grand Re-opening’, but the lack of skills and education of the baristi was enough that I haven’t been motivated to go back yet.
I do have to say that I’ve been to that parking lot approaching from every angle, by bike and by car, and I haven’t had any issues.
